My name is Janel and welcome to wanderingmomma.com! Life is a trip and I am glad you are riding along with us!

My blog is intended to capture what life is like road tripping, and traveling, as a solo adult with kids. I would like to think I am good at both, since everyone has always come back alive. In addition, I will sprinkle in a bit of random blogs about daily things since I try and lead an exciting life even when not behind the wheel. Life is short, so enjoy it!

Why did I decide to write a blog?

I decided to write this blog because I get asked so many questions about places that I have been, or what it is like traveling with kids. I am hoping my blog will give you a ride along experience with my son Wyatt, and I, as we travel the country in search of new adventures!

How did I get bitten with the travel bug? Well I am glad you have asked!

I was very lucky as a kid to spend my summers packed in the family van on numerous trips. Since there were five of us we seldomly flew and mostly drove; literally from sea to shining sea. The benefit of driving (besides the undeniable family bonding, which I say with the nicest bit of sarcasm) is that you get to see so much more! Kids fighting in the back seat, no worries! A cheese palace is at the next exit! Why not take a detour!
